Before there was New England, there was England. When British settlers came to the New World, they brought more than their customs and clothes – they also transferred the names of their former hometowns to their new ones. Still, some residents of the English versions of Hull, Weymouth, Braintree, Plymouth and beyond say they could care less about their American sister towns.
